To live in a universe made of white noise, which suddenly begins to beat like the heart.
Improvisation carried out in private, October 5, 2017 (Benoît Labourdette production).
Musical creations, often improvised, usually made with an analog synthesizer, in public or private. For improvisations, the general principle is to play a single instrument, to create the whole sound live. No pre-existing rhythm on which to “wedge” a melody, for example, nor loops recorded over time to “enrich” the song. Just one synthesizer, to sculpt the sound wave as the piece unfolds, listening to its own sound evolution. For unimprovised pieces, the sound materiality is my object of work.
