In the city of Navigators in Choisy-le-Roi, for 40 years, a group of nuns, “The little sisters of the Assumption”, has been sharing the lives of the inhabitants.

Film directed as part of an artistic residency as part of the “DIA LOG” project led by Myriam Drosne and Marie Ann Trân (guest artists: Benoît Labourdette, Romain Baujard, Marc Daniau, Sarah Simon).

For several years, Myriam Drosne and Marie Ann Trân have been meeting the inhabitants, sharing moments of their lives, and inviting children to interview adults to share their common history. Then they collaborate with other artists. And from this great trust, it is a question of going to people’s homes to preserve a precious trace of these singular lives lived. Reinvest the value of your own history, whatever it may be....

What is a “documentary” ? A singular look on the world, on reality. Any film, any work, offers a vision of the world, whether through fiction or not. Moreover, some documentaries include fiction, and vice versa. So why differentiate these two forms of cinema ? Perhaps simply to clarify what the audience should expect from the film : the proposal to live a dream in an imaginary, or the proposal to discover unknown parts of the world, as revealed by a unique (...)
