No one wants to be confronted with a natural or technological disaster, yet it can happen in our lives. If we prepare ourselves for this eventuality, our attitudes, actions, constructions, experiences, solidarity and resilience will be much better. To contribute to this anticipation in a creative, playful and collective way, we proposed a public workshop to make short animated films with cut-out paper, to develop the imagination, anticipate, dream too, alone, as a family or in a group... Create animated collages, then share these films as accessible prevention tools.
Imagination, which is the hallmark of the human being, harbors immense constructive and communicative power. And it’s accessible to everyone! You just need to be encouraged and have the right tools, which is why we invited the public to join us in this creative studio open to the public, designed and run by filmmaker Benoît Labourdette.
This free, open-ended workshop took place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 (10am-4pm) at the Centre Social et Culturel de l’Estey (20 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, 33130 Bègles, France). Even in half an hour, you can create a very short film!
The 15 films made by families, adults and children were screened in public at the cinema La Lanterne (151 bd Albert 1er, 33130 Bègles) at 6pm, followed by the screening of the film “En plein feu” by Quentin Reynaud (2022) and a debate on the subject of imagination and risk prevention, featuring :
This project was born of a meeting between Serge Tisseron, psychoanalyst, and Benoît Labourdette, filmmaker, and was made possible by the active coordination of Virginie Perromat-Malikite (Culture du Risque et Résilience - French Association for the Prevention of Natural and Technological Disasters - AFPCNT and board member of IHMéC), the involvement of Aurore Schneekönig (Coordinator of the Pôle Régional d’Education aux Images en Nouvelle-Aquitaine - Département Cinéma & Audiovisuel - ALCA, Agence Livre, Cinéma et Audiovisuel en Nouvelle-Aquitaine) and the active commitment of all the partners.
The event was part of the Month of Resilience organized by Bordeaux Métropole as part of the government’s “All resilient in the face of risk” (“All resilient in the face of risk”) initiative.
