A device for media education through games: digital escape game, fun workshops, resource area... an innovative and rich educational tool.
Isabelle Saussol, who for 13 years was responsible for the educational projects of the Rencontres d’Arles, and in particular initiated the game Pause photo prose, created her own structure in 2018, Les déclencheurs. Within this framework, she proposed to the Judicial Youth Protection the idea of an educational game on decoding the media, aimed at young people. She carried the project and led its co-construction, very collective, based on tests with the public throughout the creation process, for 2 years. She mobilized many institutional partners around the project. The Infox Trackers kit has been available since March 2020 and is distributed as part of training courses for professionals in the educational and social sector: official page of the project. Very concretely, it is a USB key, which you just have to plug into a computer to prepare and start the activity. Thus, this game can be very easily distributed. The game can be played with a group of up to 6-7 people. It must be led by a previously trained person. The escape game, which is the heart of the activities of “Infox Trackers”, has been created by Happy Kits.
What “Infox Trackers” offers is:
I contributed to the construction of the multimedia tool “Infox Trackers” in several ways:
“Multimedia” is an old term (Bob Goldstein, 1966) that refers to the fact of mobilizing together several media (text, still or moving image, sound, interactivity...). The use of the Internet is essentially multimedia. There are regular attempts to modernize the term: content-360, cross-media, transmedia, webdocumentary, new media... but each time, good old “multimedia” remains the most appropriate word to describe projects that mobilize several media.
Almost all my activity is “multimedia”. You will find here projects in which the singular technical question is asked.
