Participative conference to illustrate how the training of critical thinking can effectively pass by the means of artistic creation. To inaugurate the study and training day “EAC in the service of the development of critical thinking”, for teachers and cultural actors, organized by the Atelier Canopé 86 - Poitiers, on May 11, 2022.
The principle of this conference is to put into practice, in its form of interaction, the pedagogical principles that it illustrates. This will be done through several participative moments, and notably through the realization of photographs that will become tools of pedagogical mediation.

To form one’s singular gaze, that is to say, to walk towards the independence of the mind, is a practice, a doing. The digital seems to format the world and thought. And yet, digital tools and uses also conceal formidable potentialities of attention to the universe that surrounds us; they allow us to become anthropologists of ourselves. We will discover practical thinking tools and digital creativity methods, in order to consider artistic and cultural education projects from a critical thinking perspective. We will share a moment of collective digital creation. We will encounter the thoughts of Tim Ingold, John Dewey, Michel Serres and Olivier Houdé.

How Encounter, Practice and Knowledge allow one to go beyond one’s spontaneous perception and prejudices?
Developing a critical mind is today a major stake in the construction of social, professional and citizen emancipation of the individual. Building this critical thinking implies an intellectual posture combining curiosity and distancing from the world around us. Artistic and Cultural Education, by relying on its three pillars - encounters with artists and works, individual and collective practices in different artistic fields, and knowledge that allows the acquisition of cultural references - allows one to distance oneself from one’s representations, one’s prejudices, to go beyond one’s spontaneous perception, and thus provides a framework conducive to diversified pedagogical implementations in the service of the development of critical thinking.
