You are preparing a professional day or a round table on adolescents and screens; a team of psychologists, educators or foster carers is asking to be trained in mediation through images; your institution is working out its position on mobile phones; you want to bring together the families of your area around digital parenting; a regional health agency, a DRAC or a territorial directorate is engaging you in a project to develop psychosocial skills. These situations call for a twofold competence: hands-on practice of creative workshops with young people, and knowledge of the institutional frameworks of care, social work and justice.
Our work proceeds through doing: professionals themselves experience the formats they will later lead, and this lived experience transforms their relationship to the subject more surely than a lecture. Mediation through creation is offered as a complement to the work of speech, never as its replacement, and the non-judgement of people’s digital practices is its first condition.
Benoît Labourdette has been working for more than fifteen years with the psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Serge Tisseron, is trained in psychoanalysis and teaches a course within the university diploma in Arts and Therapeutic Mediation. Among the actions carried out: the conference « L’usage des écrans au cœur de la protection de l’enfance » with Serge Tisseron; the « psychosocial skills » seminar for the Limousin youth judicial protection service and the inter-professional seminar bringing together the PJJ, the DRAC, the ARS, education and justice; the « Mental health and cinema » professional days with ACRIF; a video workshop with autistic children in a day hospital; the Pocket Films Empathy project.
